Whether to hire a casting director depends on many factors. Among them: What are you shooting (feature or commercial, short or voiceover, etc.)? How big is your project? Do you need to tap into the bigger pool of names? On some projects you’ll want help, and on other projects you’ll be confident to do it yourself. Every person you bring into your working group creates a new set of deadlines.
