Session: Goal Setting and Motivation

Observe (OBS) – Noticing one's experience

Describe (DES) – The process of putting words on one's experience

Participate (PART) – Noting what the individual doing to cope with the current situation and how present they are in the process

Non-Judgmental Stance (NJS) – Noticing our experience without placing value on the experience itself or the process

One-Mindfully (OM) – Focusing our attention on the present situation or task

Effectively (EFF) – Doing what is required to meet needs in a healthy manner

Radical Acceptance (RA). This skill may be defined as accepting reality for what it is.

Practical Acceptance (PA). This skill may be defined as accepting reality and understanding that controlling the situation is futile, but that the individual can still influence the situation.

Practical Change (PC). This skill may be defined as changing many aspects of a situation and needing to accept some aspects that are change resistant.

Radical Change (RC). This skill may be defined as changing all aspects of a situation because no other alternatives are acceptable.

Session: Functioning and Loss

Behavioral Mapping – The individual is to track their activities throughout the day, how they attempted to cope, levels of pain pre/post intervention, and the location or source of their pain.
