Cisco UCS System Logs

Two main types of logs exist in the Cisco UCS Manager. One is holistic, around the UCS system faults, failures, and alarm thresholds (Syslog). Another specific set of logs covers system hardware events around servers and chassis components in terms of their internal hardware components (SEL logs).

There are three kinds of syslog entries: Fault, Event, and Audit. This can be viewed from the Cisco UCS Manager. It labels each fault with a severity term, as shown in Figure 16-27; the fault events are categorized as per the legend shown.
