Exploring IPS Technologies
In this section, we examine the fundamentals of IPS and IDS technologies, as well as ways to categorize them. We determine where they fit into Cisco’s Self-Defending Network and introduce some exemplary solutions in Cisco’s product portfolio. We conclude with some introductory comments about the Cisco IOS IPS router solution in order to set up for the next section, which concentrates on features of the Cisco IOS IPS.
