Security Appliance VLAN Capabilities

Configuring VLANs on the security appliance is similar to configuring them on a Cisco router. They are deployed using subinterfaces. Each subinterface allows you to define a separate subnet and VLAN. This type of configuration can turn a security appliance with three physical interfaces into a security appliance with five interfaces, as shown in Figure 5-1.
