I wanted to introduce this chapter by talking about how large and ubiquitous the topic of “cloud” is and how, conversely, so few people in my circle of life know anything at all about it. I mean, we use the term a lot—sometimes incorrectly—but very few people I interact with have any real idea what “cloud” means and how it works. So I did what anyone else in my position would do—I ran a Google search.
