I feel like my career is a marathon and they want me to sprint the entire way. I can’t seem to change my flexstyle even though I now have the freedom to do so and my family life situation has changed from when I started out in my career. Because I have always been a top performer, I probably could cut back a little, and no one at work would even notice, but it just isn’t working out. I tried to cut back after my second child. I had always been on the high potential list and received numerous “atta-girls” at work and before that at school, but I am still working way too much.
