Network

Ceph is a distributed storage system and it relies heavily on the underlying network infrastructure. If you want your Ceph cluster to be reliable and performant, make sure that you have your network designed for it. It's recommended that all cluster nodes have two redundant separate networks for cluster and client traffic.

Set up cluster and client networks on separate NICs.

For a small proof of concept, or to test the Ceph cluster of a few nodes, a 1 GBps network speed should work well.
