OSD filesystem

The Ceph OSD daemon runs on top of a filesystem that can be XFS, EXT, or even Btrfs. However, selecting the right filesystem for the Ceph OSD is a critical factor as OSD daemons rely heavily on the stability and performance of the underlying filesystem. Apart from stability and performance, the filesystem also provides extended attributes (XATTRs) that Ceph OSD daemons take advantage of. The XATTR provides internal information on the object state, snapshot, metadata, and ACL to the Ceph OSD daemon, which helps in data management.
