Summary Comparison of Frameworks
In this chapter, we compare the four frameworks: DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework Version 2 (FEAF2), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), and the Zachman Framework. This comparison is particularly useful when an enterprise is trying to select a framework as one of the first tasks undertaken by an enterprise architecture (EA) program. Each of the frameworks we have discussed has its own merits and limitations. Each was designed for a different purpose and is strong in the factors that benefit the stakeholders it was designed to benefit.
