Remember the movie Top Gun? The truth is, it bothers me at a level I don’t quite understand: that this big, bold, loud, brassy 1980s popcorn flick about fighter planes and jingoistic American culture is now considered, by the youth of today as kind of slow, cheesy, and retrograde.
To me, it’s Kenny Loggins, beach volleyball, and never leaving your wingman. It reminds me of being young.
