It is easy to lose sight of how imaginative the engineers, the programmers, and the tinkerers of Silicon Valley have been, taking private fantasies that had no precedent, making them part of the fabric of daily life throughout the industrial world.
Their far-out became our standard operating procedure. In order not to lose sight of how remarkable their accomplishments were, it’s revealing to look at the visions that are being pursued here now, today. It will give some clue as to how outrageous dreams sound while they’re still dreams.
