Chapter 4. A Conversational Bot

In the last chapter we implemented a virtual shopping assistant bot to interact with the users’ offers. Athough the structured messages make the conversation easier by allowing users to quickly make selections instead of typing a message, it doesn’t make our bot conversational.

In our example, users only have to select two options, gender and size, to see matching t-shirts, but what if we have more options. Instead of exchanging multiple messages to make a selection, what if a user can simply type “I am looking for large size t-shirts for men,” and our bot responds with matching t-shirts.
