Objectives

This part is dedicated to be a review for graduate students with a chemical engineering background and an introduction to those new to the field. After completion of this part, the successful student must be able to

•   Design reactors for simple reactions

•   Design reactors for complex reactions

•   Choose the most suitable ideal reactor for a given reaction

•   Perform energy balance analyses around isothermal and adiabatic ideal reactors

•   Identify nonidealities in chemical reactors and mathematically analyze the nonidealities for improved design protocols

•   Choose the best operation ...
