The digital library in China


China’s digital library research and construction, although lagging behind the United States and other developed countries, is developing very fast. It has gone through phases of research, experiment, and practice. Since the early 1990s, papers introducing international digital libraries emerged in Chinese library science journals. According to Lynch’s theory, at least three types of systems or services can be considered a digital library.
