Focusing on the Future of Change

DURING THE THIRD week of May 2013, the American Society for Training and Development held its annual International Conference and Exposition (ICE) in Dallas, Texas. We attended, along with some 9,000 other people. At ICE, a special area was created called the “Global Village.” The village was a place where learning, HR, and change professionals from 75 countries could meet, network, and work together. It was also a great place to gain perspective on what people from six continents were thinking about and doing. We spent some hours in the Global Village, asking questions and listening to the perspectives of colleagues from many nations.
