Time for action – creating and importing a spline

In this exercise, we're going to create a vase to sit on our desk using a Lathe NURBS object. We'll begin in Adobe Illustrator, but you can also create this spline within C4D or another drawing application. If you do create a spline within C4D, for this purpose, it's best to use either a Bezier spline or a B-spline to ensure a smooth curve.

  1. To understand how the Lathe NURBS object works, let's quickly create an object before we make our spline, so that we can understand how spline rotation works. If your room model is still open, quickly create a new file so you have a blank environment.
