This chapter discusses the various management and monitoring tools available in a Cisco CallManager environment and how they should be configured and used to best maintain the system's health.
CallManager offers tight integration with Windows operating system (OS) monitoring tools such as the Event Viewer and Microsoft Performance (formerly known as Performance Monitor). In addition, CallManager provides the tools necessary to create a management environment outside the Windows OS through the use of syslog, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and the Real-Time Monitoring Tool, discussed in Chapter 13, “Using Real-Time Monitoring Tool.”
