Chapter 3. Performing Basic Administrative Tasks in UCS
This chapter discusses some of the basic tasks an administrator needs to perform in UCS. These tasks include configuring connectivity, performing startup and shutdown procedures, using user interfaces, and upgrading firmware.
Connectivity
In this section, we discuss how different types of connectivity are established in UCS. Specifically, we discuss how to connect Ethernet, console, and power.
UCS 6120 Console Connectivity
The console port is in a RJ45 form factor for carrying RS232 serial communications. The loader, kickstart, and system images have the following factory default console settings: 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity.
