About the Technical Reviewers

Neil Jarvis has been a software engineer in the networking industry since 1990. He is currently employed by Cisco Systems as a distinguished engineer, responsible for the architecture and development of switching control and data plane software, including Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF). He was a technical contributor and editor of a number of IEEE 802 standards, including 802.1 (bridging) and 802.5 (token ring). He was IEEE 802.1 vice-chair for a number of years. Neil graduated with a master's degree in microelectronic systems engineering from UMIST (Manchester, England) in 1989 and now lives with his wife in Edinburgh, Scotland.
