Performance Requirements

Some of the data discussed in this section was provided earlier in Chapter 6, “Sizing, Networking, and Security Considerations.” However, it is worth reviewing because of its relevance when virtualizing Unified CVP. The following performance considerations should be addressed:

• CPU usage (average) should not exceed 60 percent for the ESXi Server and for each of the individual processors and for each virtual machine.

• Memory usage (average) should not exceed 80 percent for the ESXi Server and for each of the virtual machines.

• Virtual machine snapshots are not supported in production because they have significant impact on system performance.
