Figure 13-23 depicts the ideal Unity installation—Unity colocated together with its
messaging infrastructure dependencies on the same subnet. In this example, CallManager
might be on a separate VLAN.
Figure 13-24 depicts a more common Unity installation. In this example, Unity is still
colocated with Exchange. Other messaging infrastructure components, however, are on
different subnets. This is typical but comes with higher latency risk.
