Putting It All Together

How to Build a Culture of Civility in Your Organization

1. Identify problems and issues in your workplace.

Recommend: Use the Symptoms of Incivility Survey; identify any of the symptoms you are experiencing in your workplace.

2. Choose your hedgehog concept, for example, choose civility.

3. Determine the end in mind. Set a goal related to the specific change you want to see. Expand the goal using SMARTER formula. For example, goal: assess and address competency gaps in continuous learning skills of all employees (200) in XYZ division by December 31, 20XX.
