I remember a story about two men standing by a fence talking. The one man was a contractor paving the road next to the fence. He had stopped to take a break. The other was the farmer who owned the field on his side of the fence, and he just liked to make friends. As they talked, they heard thunder in the east and, when they looked, could see dark clouds advancing toward them. The farmer smiled, because his crops needed the rain; the contractor frowned, because he would lose a day’s work and needed the money for his family. The rain was a single event, but it was both a positive (for the farmer) and a negative (for the road builder).
There is scientific theory that proposes that all things have both a positive and a negative charge. Money can be used for good and it can be used for evil. Religion can bring peace or cause strife. You can associate with the right people or you can fall in with the wrong crowd. All these things can be positive or negative. Likewise when you open your mouth.
Your words have the power to lift and the power to destroy.
