As wonderful as Marti is, she did not win this contest. Marti is the voice of Those Callaways. She answers our phone. Although many companies are satisfied to have an hourly receptionist, we have Marti. She is a licensed real estate agent and has been for more than 30 years; Marti is the first person our clients hear. She brings honesty, competence, and caring to their initial contacts with us. Marti listens. Although she often handles more than 100 calls a day, she listens. She makes every caller her friend. She knows every seller, because she is the one who calls to set up the showing appointments. She knows every agent, because she’s the one they rely on to get in to our clients’ homes. Marti helps every agent on our Those Callaways team, and many times she has saved a deal. Marti was our Agent of the Year in 2009.
For the contest, Marti went the extra mile and submitted 13 Clients First experiences and eight clients last debacles. Here are some of the experiences she recounted:
STARBUCKS. My fiancé, Wade, was one of their best customers while he was alive. Many, many times they would give him free refills, throw in a sweet roll, or give him a gift at Christmas. After he died, I went in to tell them. Everyone stopped what they were doing and came over to me, hugged me, and offered to help in any way they could. Even though my heart was breaking, they were warm and consoling.
