Abstract:
Malaysia is a small country with a diverse ethnic composition. The potential of the domestic pharmaceutical industry has been recognised by the Malaysian government, which views it as a strategic industry. This chapter gives a brief overview of the pharmaceutical industry and the market in Malaysia. It further discusses the healthcare system and the prevailing pharmaceutical regulations in the country. It goes on to describe clinical trials undertaken and registered in Malaysia and outlines the challenges and opportunities of doing clinical trials in the country.
