Service Models

Cloud services are aligned by their mode of deployment, such as public, private, and hybrid as discussed in Chapter 2, “Cloud Models.” Cloud services can also be aligned with their service model, in which each level of service abstraction will be associated with the term as a Service (aaS). Consumers of cloud resources access these “as a Service” resources via their favorite web browser without considering whether they are consuming an application or an entire infrastructure within the cloud.
