After an assessment sponsor is chosen, he or she along with the Lead Assessor is intimately involved in the process that transforms the decision to undertake an assessment into strategic and tactical decisions about how the assessment is actually conducted.

The three primary parts of this stage of the assessment’s preparation involve the following:

• 5.1 Choosing a time for the assessment

• 5.2 Formulating an assessment plan

• 5.3 Appointing an organization site coordinator to help fill out the practical details of the plan and to organize the assessment’s logistical preparations ...
