Appendix . Overview of CMMI-ACQ

The initial draft CMMI for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ) model focuses on the activities of the acquirer. The draft CMMI-ACQ addresses those activities required for supplier sourcing, developing and awarding contracts (supplier agreements), and managing the acquisition of solutions (such as products and services) by using a set of standard measures, acceptance criteria, and supplier deliverables. Supplier activities are not addressed in this report. CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) can be treated as a reference model for suppliers that develop products and services for an acquirer of technology solutions.
