Displaying a page in the CMS Admin without the surrounding theme

Anything your module outputs to its admin panel will be displayed to the logged-in user wrapped nicely within the selected admin theme. This is desirable for numerous reasons: the admin theme handles display of the main navigational menu, the module name is automatically displayed to help orient the administrator, and any pending alerts or messages are displayed.

You may, however, have cases where you wish to have total control over an admin page. This recipe shows you how to do that.

How to do it...

  1. Using any of the methods described in Chapter 4, Getting Started with Modules create a new plugin type module stub for your Chart module, and call it "Chart".
