The Idea

Imagine a group of scientists. They decide to find out who is the most knowledgeable of the group, so they devise a test of scientific expertise. The scientists eagerly take the test, and their scores are calculated. One of the scientists is deemed to be the winner, and on hearing the news, the scientist declares, “Seeing as I am the expert of the group, it falls to me to declare what is true.” The other scientists reluctantly agree. In a different place, another group of scientists are meeting. They also devise a test to determine who is most knowledgeable, and a winner is declared.
