IN THE MIDDLE of my brain is a box full of stories I use to navigate each day of my life (fig. 1). The frame of the box has thickened through the years, protecting my stories and points of view from outside disruption. From the moment I wake up, I know who I am and what I’m supposed to do based on the stories that guide me. I have an “I always wake up early” story I can’t seem to change.
