7.4. Coaching Channels

As mentioned, there are a variety of means, or coaching channels, by which successful coaching conversations are conducted. Coaching has historically occurred through face-to-face interaction, but with the advent of new technology, this has evolved to include virtual means of coaching, including phone, teleconference, email, videoconference, or web conference.

Although virtual coaching has encountered some resistance and controversy, all of the methods of coaching listed above can be equally effective. In fact, a coach can obtain far-reaching and phenomenal results from the PBC using any of these methods.
