THE RIGHT STUFF OF LEADERSHIP

One aspect of leadership development that receives relatively little focus is the topic of “presence.” The topic often arises in coaching as something that is missing. Often a senior executive, or a human resource partner, will comment that a rising executive has everything necessary to succeed and perhaps make it to the highest levels of management save one thing—an inability to present him or herself as a leader.
