Apache Cocoon
Apache Cocoon is an open-source XML publishing framework that is being developed by a group of enthusiasts all over the world. Although Cocoon started off as the project of only one person, it has grown into an industrial-strength framework for XML applications. Its major advantage is that it is free. This means that you do not have to pay anything to use the software or obtain the source code. Cocoon comes with all the components you need to build different types of XML applications. You can also extend the solution with your own components if you need to.
