Managing Custom Tags

One of the issues that you will face is the issue of where to store your custom tags. In this section, we are going to talk about the common use of custom tags and how to store them. Shortly, we will discuss two alternative methods of using custom tags.

The custom tags can be stored in your system custom tag directory or the current folder where the tags are called. In Chapter 4, we discussed how you could set application mappings for custom tags. This can be done in the ColdFusion Administration but do not let the custom tags be set at the server level if you are doing shared hosting as shared hosting rarely provides administration access.
