8.1 ‘Work hard !’

How many times have you heard this pitch when you were growing up? Hard work has remained a cherished ideal right since the caveman days and has appealed to generation after generation across all cultures. Even little children are taught the value of hard work. Globalization, modernization, technological revolutions, business paradigm shifts—nothing has changed the importance of hard work. Even today, those who work hard are worshipped as role models and you are exhorted to follow their footsteps.
