3 Israeli Hebrew morphology

Among researchers Israeli Hebrew is considered a derivational morphology language, characterized by synthetic structures (Aronoff 1994:125). Yet, many analytical processes as well as additional strategies are used for word formation. In this chapter the morphological structure of Israeli Hebrew, specifically word formation processes, are presented and discussed in detail and are illustrated with examples.
