KITTEN
I often talk about using negative space in your drawings. When drawing cats this is especially helpful as their fur is typically short and composed of a multitude of different colors and values. In this project you can experiment with negative space by using dark colors to draw behind the lighter fur areas and suggesting the hairs rather than drawing them in directly. Since lighter colored pencils do not cover darker pencils very well, this technique is a useful and effective tool.
