In the previous chapters, we examined the COM+ programming model and learned how to create COM+ applications that can avail various services provided by COM+. We also observed that the configured settings on a component are stored in the COM+ catalog. On several occasions, we used the Component Services snap-in tool to specify these settings.

To help you install and configure components programmatically, COM+ provides a set of automation objects that expose all of the functionality of the Component Services snap-in.
