Configuring a COM+ Object with DCOMCNFG
This chapter shows you how to configure a COM+ object on a systemwide basis using two advanced utilities called DCOMCNFG and OLEVIEW. You also learn different strategies for handling COM+ error codes.
Note
If you are not familiar with the COM+ registry settings, read Chapter 8, "COM and the Registry." That chapter is necessary in order to understand the registry lingo.
DCOMCNFG is installed in the system32 folder on your computer. This utility is the standard method for manually configuring COM+ security and remoting. The User Interface (UI) is a property sheet with four pages (see Figure 13.1).
