Like most things, COM+ didn't just fall out of the sky. It is the product of a steady and continuing evolution of application design and implementation techniques. The following discussion leads you into an understanding of what and why COM+ exists today. Because this book focuses on C++ level COM development, I have drawn from the most relative technology sets, not necessarily those at the genesis of any particular construct.
