Chapter 24. Cause and Effects Matrix

The Cause and Effects Matrix, also known as the C&E Matrix, is a versatile tool whose purpose is to identify the most important input variables impacting a set of output requirements. The C&E Matrix produces a tabular Pareto analysis that determines the importance of the input variables analyzed based on a calculated ranking score. The C&E Matrix is useful in a variety of situations, including:
