arrow Guesstimating with statistics and probability

The Common Core Standards for high-school math address six major domains and are organized differently than the standards in kindergarten through Grade 8. Instead of being listed by grade level, the high-school math standards are organized only by domain in order to give schools and teachers the flexibility to structure their math courses in ways they deem most effective in helping their students achieve the standards. The Common Core Standards for high-school math are as follows:

  • Number and Quantity
  • Algebra
  • Functions
  • Modeling
  • Geometry
  • Statistics and Probability

In this chapter, I describe each of these domains and provide examples of applications of these skills and concepts ...
