This final chapter provides a brief synthesis of our ideas on extreme crises. The purpose of the chapter is to highlight the unique aspects of extreme crises which make them different and complex. We propose several key takeaways for crisis practitioners and specifically how to communicate during an extreme crises.

The chapter begins with an overview of two models which help explain the crisis management process as well as how extreme crises are formed.
