RSPIN Router Architecure used in SPIN Systems.
The architecture of the RSPIN router is represented in Figure 3.22. The
RSPIN router includes a 4 words buffer at each input channel and two 18 words
output buffers, shared by the output channels. The output buffers have greater
priority to use the output channels than input buffers. This reduces contention.
RSPIN contains a partial 10x10 crossbar, which implements only the connec-
tions allowed by the routing scheme: all the packets flowing down the tree can
be forwarded to children and only such packets can use the output buffers
when the required output channel ...
