Personal social networks are complex networks of persons or social animals. (No, whales and elephants do not have their own Facebook, but if you are intrigued, look at Animal Social Networks [KJFC15]!) Respectively, nodes represent people, and edges represent significant social relationships between people: kinship (remember the family treehere?), friendship, acquaintanceship, subordination, and the like.
