The exam focuses on the command line tools. Reviewing the web configuration is important to get an understanding of CUPS but is not on the exam. If you don’t have a printer to practice with, you can create a fake printer with a command like lpadmin –p FakePrinter –E –v /dev/null –m raw, or select the Virtual PDF printer option when creating a new printer. The command creates a printer called FakePrinter where all output is discarded; the second option generates PDFs of the output for you.
