3G The third generation of wireless mobile telecommunications technology.

4G The fourth generation of wireless mobile technology, which was designed as a complete replacement for earlier 3G technology. The first 4G networks were widely deployed starting in 2009.

5G The fifth generation of wireless mobile technology, which seeks to eventually replace 4G technology. This technology enhances performance once again and began to be deployed in 2019.

10BASE-T An Ethernet standard that transmits at 10Mbps over twisted wire pairs (telephone wire).

10GBASE-LR A 10-Gigabit Ethernet standard specified to transmit data over long distance through single-mode fiber. (The letters “LR” stand for “long range.”)
