Quality and Performance Charts

This chapter covers the following topics:

  • Histogram: A column chart or bar graph that represents the frequency of data points over a continuous range and is used to find quality gaps

  • Pareto Chart: A line-and-column chart with descending bars of frequency and an ascending line of percentage that is used to set priorities for quality control

  • Run Chart: A graph plotted to show the same data point’s frequency across a time sequence that is used in quality management to show trends, variations, or declines/improvements over time

  • Scatter Diagram: A diagram used to show the presence or absence of correlation between two variables, such as traffic speed and number of accidents
